Ten Rules for Writing

I recently finished reading the book "The Craft of Writing" by William Sloane, a short but very instructive book about fiction and nonfiction writing. I have compiled the following ten rules:
• Use characters
•  Select a point of view and stick with it.
•  Create scenes
•  Show and do not tell
•  Settle on a subject that you know (be sincere)
•  Ensure you know the meanings of each word you use
•  Use a lot verbal-force words.
•  Avoid the verb “to be”
•  Ensure your story has a start and an end
•  Revise, Revise, Revise…
